fun. handmade. kind.
Hello friends! I'm Amy Lesko (@leskoletsgo) - the designer, illustrator & seamstress behind Shop Amy! (I also do all of the other bits and bobs but you know what I mean, I do it all!)⠀
I've worked in the creative industry for 4+ years after graduating from university with a BA in Graphic Design & Illustration. I've worked in in-house design environments since graduating so I know my way around Adobe Creative Suite! Over the past few years I slowly stopped shopping with fast fashion brands and invested my money into small, sustainable businesses, and I think that's what led me to where I am today! I’ve combined my love of illustration (primarily fashion illustration) with my love of fashion to create Shop Amy.
I knew If I was going to create an ethical brand I was going to have to give it 100%. I didn't want to buy pre-made garments and just whack my designs on them, that was cheating and you'd never really know the garments background. So since deciding to launch the brand I have learnt so much! I've learnt to sew to a professional standard, bought new machines and tools and took time to learn about different fabrics, pattern grading and the world of sustainability.
Shop Amy is Pro LGBTQ+, Pro Black, Pro Brown, Pro Science, Pro Choice and Pro Hoe. All garments are not gendered and do not have a gender in their tags, wear what the hell you want! In the future I aim to produce fully size inclusive clothing, so everyone can wear Shop Amy threads.
No fast fashion here! Shop Amy isn’t going to be the next Boohoo or PLT. I only create small runs, use sustainable fabrics and don’t exploit workers. Kindness please!
No underpaid workers thank you! Just me in my little U.K studio hand cutting and sewing your orders. I ensure to only use quality fabrics and not nasty cheap, plastic based materials that will only last a second. Let’s fight single use clothing.
All fabrics are sustainably sourced - such as remnant, deadstock or organic fabrics.
Hell yeah to supporting local industry! All embroidery has been produced by a small business located only a 10 minute drive from my home! This factory is run by 2 people and holds 15 machines, they too were very happy to be working with a local brand! All the woven labels in your garments have been manufactured within the U.K and of my printed items have also been produced in my home town by a small business.
Only small, limited runs of each piece. This eliminates waste and makes your garments super exclusive. Most drops will not be repeated due to using only remnant materials. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!
I only pack your orders using fully recyclable & eco packaging. No plastic here! Even the tape used to seal your boxes is fully biodegradable and compostable.
